Marie Sion (マリーシオン)

鹿児島市出身。幼少時よりクラシック、ジャズ及び両親の故郷である奄美大島と沖縄の民謡に親しむ。
9才頃よりピアノ小品の作曲を開始。イギリス滞在を機に以降はヨーロピアンテイストのポップスの曲作りに傾倒。ポップスの曲想として影響を受けたアーティストにジェーン・バーキン、エルトン・ジョン、ビートルズを挙げている。

Marie has been inspired by music of various genre since her childhood in Kagoshima, Japan, from the local folk songs of Amami Oshima and Okinawa, her parents’ hometowns, to the wider-known Classical and Jazz.
While studying English in the UK, Marie became fascinated with British pop and rock music, most notably by Jane Birkin, Elton John, and the Beatles, eventually composing her own unique blend of music.
Marie believes that her music will continue to develop along with her exploration and creative experimentation.
